Tariq Aziz speaks! France caused the War!
self | 07-15-03 | WL-law

Posted on 07/15/2003 3:50:30 PM PDT by WL-law

Just heard on NBC-News that Tariq Aziz has told interrogators that Saddam Hussain believed right up to the last moment that the US would not invade Iraq, due to "international pressure".

Translated, that means, as many americans believed all along, that France and Germany (the main voices of 'international pressure') were, in effect, responsible for creating the neccessity for a hot war.

It was their action, in opposition to the UN mandate and US pressure, that threw a lifeline of hope to Saddam, to which he hung on to the last, instead of taking the more reasonable approach of giving up power and leaving in exile.

So now we have official confirmation from the Saddam inner circle -- the blood is on France's hands.

Here we have it - France was secretly working with the U.S.A. since it is such a great ally...

Sounds reasonable to me.Saddam, however, is a megalomaniac and anything's possible in his mind.

Old news.

Actually...those with open minds and keen insights recognized this at the time.

Only the dimmest of dims will continue to deny Charaq's culpability.

The blood of American and Brittish troops is on his hands.

Thanks for sharing WL...

That makes France responsible for all our war dead. Chiraq and de 'Vile Lapin' ought to be tried as war criminals. We should get reparations.

Old news, yes -- but here are the words right out of the mouths of the regime itself. First time we've heard that as a direct admission.

And so I'd just like to rub it in a bit to the French.

Interesting. Had France not given reassurance to Saddam that they could rein in the United States, Saddam would have felt compelled to comply with US demands of asylum. France forced a war between the two nations by giving Saddam a false sense of security.

France is stirring up more stink today by refusing to send in troops to Iraq, and using it's Security Council position to inditimate and extort. France has been twisting India's arm so that they backed out of sending their troops too. Anything to hurt the US.

These vermin must pay.

It's not old news. We may have recognized it at the time, but the news is that it's coming straight from the horse's mouth. When even Saddam's administration admits France caused the war, there can be no doubters. We (conservatives) do oursselves a disservice of belittling breaking news like this- the news is not meant to convince us conservatives, but is meant to be a final proof point for those on the fence. We should make hay of it, force the conservative outlets to cover it, and hopefully it'll trickle into the mainstream media.

Thanks for the Aziz news. I think that Freepers and hopefully many others understood all along that France and its pals were responsible for any shots that were fired. Dubya played a masterful game with Saddam and would have brought our troops home without a shot being fired had the Iraq regime caved. But why should they when they thought world opinion was on their side? Saddam made this clear in his Dan Rather interview....why didn't France understand? Or maybe they did....of course they did. Their end game is, as it was under Napoleon, world power and leadership. The bleeps!

Saddam...everybody told ya there was a NEW Sheriff in town....

Saddam thought he was dealing with a Jimmy Carter/Bildo Clinton type. Boy was he ever wrong.

Carter would have prolly embargoed Pepsi Cola from getting to Iraq! Clintoon would /did nothing. He didn't want to hurt their feelings.
