Wonder why he didn't get professional archeologists involved in the site sooner? Any thoughts?

He didn't want someone to steal 'his' discovery?

I think he actually has. I think this is the guy who was trying to get the Smithsonium to help him examine other human parts. Several letters went back and forth but no help. Basically his info did not fit into their world view.

Dollars to doughnuts this is nothing but a scam...maybe an elaborate scam...but this goes against the entire historical record...and this stinks to high heaven.

In my opinion, once serious scientists begin to get involved, the scam will become readily apparent...

I don't take any of this with anything other than a generous grain of salt...

Perhaps one reason is that the "professional archeology" community is a very clannish bunch, with a penchant for burying work which calls their pet theories into question, ruining people's lives in the process...

Apparently professional archeologists are very prejudiced against this type of discovery; it would undermine a great deal of their work, so I am sympathetic with those who want to "think beyond the box." However, most of the people who venture out with this type of work produce results and ideas that are just as biased as those of the professionals. It's very difficult to get good, unbiased "readings" on these discoveries. I personally see no reason to assume Europeans weren't here before the Vikings. But I have seen no research that causes me to conclude that that is the best conclusion to these findings.
