I remember one thread about the mis-fortunes suffered by the cheese eating surrender monkeys when they tried to build an aircraft carrier.

Lots of little problems, they built it just a bit to short for landings, and when they fired up the laundry, the vibration almost tore the ship apart, during the year 2000, I think, would love to see it again.

I was home recovering from major surgery on 9-11-01 - I spend most of that day watching the news and reading/posting on here. Just about every thread one could access was about the attacks. Remember though, the attacks happened during a time when most people, freepers included were at work, unable to post. Still the amount of threads and number of posting was incredible.
