I think the Democrats are being set up. (Why is everyone so worried?)

My guess is that Dog is fairly well groomed.... for a squid airplane driver. Better than some Dudley Do-Right Air Force weenie. ;-) In the end, all of you are just support troops for the Army By the way, listen for me when you are flying Delta. Dave

Some of those Rumsfeld press conferences could go into re-runs on pay-per-view.

100% correct. When Rummy is on the TV, everything else freezes in my house. The man is awesome. He attacks their premises in the fine tradition of a Princeton debator.

Thanks for your post, it is right on the money.

I see a very clear plan on their global repositioning

Email me then, because I totally agree.

President Bush has 1)expanded the size of the welfare state; 2) continued the destructive war on drugs; 3)puposefully avoided the opportunity to get a clear 2nd amendment, having facts that the court would have to judicially interpret that amendment, to the Supreme Court; 4) lent support for affirmative action; 5) not only neglected to secure our borders, but actively encourgaged illegal immigration.

Socialist programs/bigger government. Destruction of the family, property rights and the BOR to protect people from themselves grounded in a socialist relationship, not a democratic republic. Continuing unnecessary abiguity on the individual firearm ownership, inumdating American culture with people who have no interest in assimilating, but can vote.

Yep, setting the democrats up, all right.

Oh man, do I have to explain this again? Nope, we are all on the same team, so I'll save it this time.

In fairness, why dont you throw up your list of positives too?

My guess is that you dont see any positives; which is why I choose to ignore comments like yours.

Damn straight we are! :- ) Nothing like a little inter service teasing for the promotion of the real thing; pride in service, squadron ,detachment and self.

They don't call it the Rummy show, for nothing! Apparently he has quite a following among the more mature women in the audience. I can see the attraction. :)

His intelligence, sense of purpose, belief in our military, staunch support of the president... not to mention his ability not to put too much emphasis on one incident, but remain watchful of the big picture, make him the one of the most fascinating cabinet members.

I had heard he has aspired to become President, but Geo.H.W.Bush put a damper on that. Rummy scoffed at the time, stating that a CIA director could never attain the presidential office. He was wrong. However, I think Rummy has rightfully earned his place in history as one of the best Sec. of Defense we have ever had, both in Ford's and Bush 43's cabinets.

Welcome to FR; you're a wonderful addition to this forum ! This thoughful vanity shows how clearly you think and how reality hasn't escaped you.

You ask why some FREEPERS are now raving antiBush and swallow, as whole cloth, the propaganda coming from the mainstream media and the dems. It's for several reasons. There is a fringe contingent here, who has always been been antiBush and antiGOP. They cleave onto every antiBush artocle and post it, go to proBush threads and Bushbash, and hope for the worst. They neither see reality as reality and neither do they understand politics. Are they Conservatives ? Not really.

Then, there are political naifs. They are easily gulled and easily made fearful.

BRAVO on your post !

I agree with you. When I first started participating on this forum we were still dicken around in the UN. I have come to realize that some people and the media especially, have a very short attention span and live life on a daily news basis. We have seen it here regarding troops being killed after the so called "end of the war". (which it isn't)

This will take awhile to accomplish as the administration warned us before the war and people need to keep things in perspective.

Dear Pukin Dog, first of all, thank you for your service to this fine country. May GOD bless you and your family for it.
Now then at this point every kook that either hates Mr. Bush or just wants any democRAT is starting to carp at Mr. Bush. With the willing accompaniement of the liberal press
that will publish anything negative against the Repubs and our president.
When you look at the cost in American souls and financial costs these folks get worried. They all thought well we won the war, so why are they killing our boys over there?
Folks say what the hell do I care about Iraq and Iran as well as all the rest of the sand box over there.
The economy hasn't done too good either and these fools fail to equate it to the 9-11 happenings or the associated costs towards American security, folks just know that the govt. is spending more and more money. (And a hell of a lot less then if the Dims were in power).
Once the populace realizes what a bunch of unAmerican pacifists the dims are running Mr. Bush will be just fine.

No pardons hit it on the head as, frankly, did you. Part of the problem as I see it ,is that we have "true believers" who really cannot see beyond their rather narrow weltanschung. No one living in politics will ever be pro life, pro 2d amendment, pro strict interpretation for these folks. These types would rather sit home and lose everything than get out to hold onto a gain and build upon it.

I think you're right , that the Bush team is about to spike this volleyball right down a passle of throats.Rumsfeld this morning telling Stephanie he was not listening was a very nice opening shot.

There is also the anti-Powell, anti-Tenet, anti-Wolfowitz contingents on FR. Sometimes it is difficult to wade through their clamoring to find the kernal of support that they hold for the Republican party, and the president.

Interesting take. I like the optimism. (Thanks, I needed that!) Now I have to ponder on it for awhile.

Glad you found your way here! Welcome!

You are ,sadly, too right. Well, again, some of these folks seem to believe life is beter all buttoned up in a cocoon.
I happen to not be a big Powell fan, but I surely do think he has shouldered his resposibilities to his President well.Wolfowitz isa danger to every leftist (or go,pat,go type) out there, He lives ina real world of real policy and direction Now, Mr.Tenet,I am still out on him, but , if he does the job appointed to and his performance satisfies the President, then the carpers simply do not matter. I think Pukin Dog hit the jackpot on this Vanity/Opinion piece.
