"WWII, we did not wait until there were millions of dead Jews, handicapped, old people, you name it."

You need to re-read what he said:

You see, UNLIKE WWII, we did not wait until there were millions of dead Jews

What mountains of evidence are they ignoring?

Sorry jaime --- I'm not under any obligation to open the eyes of those who refuse to see. If you visited Colorado, I suppose you'd ask the locals to point out the Rockies to you.

Please, don't project that level of cynicism on that man. He doesn't think that way. He's a serious man doing a serious job with the lives of American soldiers and citizens impacted with his every decision.

Exactly. And the tragic thing is that many Americans, unfortunately including some who post on this forum, are fundamentally unserious people who don't deserve a serious president.

This is such garbage.

It's hard to believe that people could be so shallow and so quickly confused about the war on Iraq.

Are Americans becoming like flakey Eurowhimps when it comes to dealing with terrorism and dictators?

> "stretched the truth" about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction or told outright lies. Only 32 percent said they thought the government was being "fully truthful"

Typical cooked poll by liberals for the following reasons:

1. 2 of the 3 responses to the question are critical regarding Bush's truthfulness on the WMD's. One is extremely negative (lied), one is extremely positive (fully truthful) and the third is a mild negative (stretched the truth). A basic principle of voter psychology is that most want to be considered moderate and mainstream- they would reject both extremes and choose the middle answer- which just so happens to be mildly critical of Bush. Plaudits to the liberal miscreants for structuring such a cleverly cooked poll question.

2. The wording of the response which would be positive for Bush is unfairly skewed with the word "fully". If people were asked do you think the Administration was "truthful" as opposed to "fully truthful" (which almost implies a certain naivete if you picked such a response), the pro-Bush response would rise. If Clinton were President, the liberal pollsters would set up the pro-Administration response to be, do you think the Administration was "generally truthful". Most would say yes (especially if that response was surrounded by a more extreme negative and positive response).

Polls are simple to cook.

I’m not joking, Jorge. The WMD rationale was hyped hokum from the start and the chickens are coming home to roost. I think you could have made a case to invade Iraq based on geopolitical considerations, but that case was never made.

Now, we have Tenet taking the fall for bad intelligence, and W. saying “Bad job, but you’re forgiven.” Hmmm, accepting responsibility but having no consequences? Where have we heard that before? Janet Reno and Waco?

Sorry, but I refuse to shut down my critical thinking ability just because the Pubs control government.

We have a right to know exactly everything about WMD, just as we have a right to know of everything involving Pearl Harbor, the Gulf of Tonkin, sinking of the Lusitania, etc. The war is over, everything about WMD should be made public knowledge to americans. The war is not over.

The war IS over.

The war is over, just as the war was over after VE day in europe. After VE day, the american citizens were told and shown all the atrocities of the nazis, the truth came out from our highest leaders and military command.

After VE day we were an occupying force, and we let the facts come out.

The war in Iraq is over, we are now an occupying force just as we were in Europe after VE day or in asia after VJ day.

There is absolutely no reason why the american citizens should not be told everything at this point. This is supposed to be a free country, and it is the citizens who are supposed to know the truth and all of the facts.
