I didn't know he left, but cool! Gay or not, he was a great frontman.

Judas Priests rocked!
The question is, will Halford, who has publicly come out, tour in a dress or his leather?

Remember that a donation doesn't have to be large to be significant. There are tens of thousands of FReepers. If everyone would donate just $1.00 a month, we would never have to have another of these FReepathons.

Yeah, great news. But what about Warren Zevon. He has cancer and is not expected to live much longer.
One returns and another is on his way out. There has to be something profound in that.

I guess he decided to rejoin Judas Priest instead of launching a career with the Village People.

Ran into him on a golf course in Scottsdale c.a. '83 or '84. Dude was wearing checked golf pants and an izod shirt.
Didn't look hell-bent for leather to me.

C'mon! Rob came out on stage looking like "Glen" from the "Village People" (to paraphrase his own statement) and nobody got it?
My God! He was the classic, "gay-leatherman-biker" stereotype in that outfit! A-freakin'-mazing that nobody knew he was gay.
Still, it is funny that he created what became the definitive "image" of metal...and all the other bands emulated him with the spiked leather collars and gauntlets, the black leather, etc. Pretty funny that the metal "look" was defined by a gay man from Birmingham, England.
Priest rules. Gay or not, Rob's got a great voice and always has. Priest was one of the few good metal bands. They're legends.
Will be happy to see them on tour again.

What about "Ripper" Owens? Back to the assembly line?

You're in for surpriiiizzzzzze, you're in for a shooOOOOOOOOCK!
Man, one of the top ten best voices ever in rock. He must have done opera at some time, nobody sings like that half-cocked.
Then he had KK Downing and Tipton behind him. IMO they were and still are the best tag team guitar players on earth.

SWEEEEET!
For all those not informed about the greatness that's Rob H., give a listen to "Hammer and the Anvil" off the Painkiller disk or a live version of Heading Out to the Highway!
Rock, be Rocked, or Step Aside (a-la Z-Rock).
Trajan88... a vet of two live Halford-led Priest concerts. See ya Ripper Owen, don't go away mad, just go away.
