Breaking: Man who allegedly met with terrorist Atta has been caught (Iraqi connection to 9/11?)
CBS News' David Martin | July 8, 2003 | myself

Posted on 07/08/2003 3:55:36 PM PDT by rwfromkansas

On the CBS Evening News a bit ago, reporter David Martin broke an exclusive that the Iraqi leader who may have met with Mohamed Atta in Prague prior to his terrorist attack on 9/11 has been caught. It will be interesting to see if he says anything.

"Publically proclaimed that America won't even be around in 300 years"

Well, he's probably right in that statement. I think the Second Coming will have occurred well before 300 years.

Oh, no. Some cruelties are just too cruel, even for mideast terror masters. Come to think of it, Poohbah's audiotape of Lying History is also something that our Christian morals simply won't let us inflict on arguably human servents of Baal.

From The Washington Post:

"Al-Ani will be of interest to U.S. interrogators for reasons beyond the question of a meeting with Atta, said another official, who recalled the Iraqi agent was suspected of carrying out a number of "nefarious" missions for then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein."

"Six weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks, Stanislav Gross, the Czech Republic's interior minister, said publicly that al-Ani and Atta had met in Prague five months earlier. Al-Ani was expelled by the Czech Republic shortly after the alleged meeting for conduct incompatible with his diplomatic status."

"Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman then told Secretary of State Colin L. Powell in November 2001 that during the meeting, Atta and al-Ani had discussed attacking the headquarters of U.S.-funded Radio Free Europe, not the Sept. 11 targets in New York and Washington."

"Surveillance cameras at the Radio Free Europe building picked up al-Ani surveying the site in April 2001, around the time of his supposed meeting with Atta. A tape of al-Ani was provided to Czech intelligence shortly thereafter..."

Just caught two more! 7/9/03 TWO “IRAQI TOP 55” IN COALITION CUSTODY: ONE SURRENDERS, ONE CAPTURED

BAGHDAD, Iraq – One former Iraqi leader surrendered and another was captured July 8 in two unrelated incidents. Both members are listed on the U.S. Central Command “Iraqi Top 55.”

Mizban Khadr Al Hadi, a high-ranking member of the Ba’ath Party Regional Command and Revolutionary Command Council (RCC) and number 23 on the coalition’s list of wanted government officials, turned himself in to Coalition forces in Baghdad.

Mahmud Dhiyab Al-Ahmad, former Minister of Interior and number 29 on the Top 55 list, was captured by Coalition forces and now is in custody.

Thanks for the ping. I stated here on FR months ago that, irrespective of the 'deck of cards', that the one Iraqi I was waiting to be caught and interrogated was Al-Ani.

I just hope the right people are interrogating him, and yes I share Perle's suspicion of the CIA's predisposition for "CYA" spin.

Getting the truth from Al-Ani will put the whole puzzle of 9-11 together, link Iraq, link the anthrax, possibly link Iraq hijacking training, and show the landscape of Iraqi- Al Qaeda - Taliban links.

Given that that CIA had absolutely no clue that 9/11 was going to happen in the first place, they have close to zero credibility with me on this issue. I agree that this reeks of them covering their six. And why would the Czechs lie? I suppose they could be mistaken, but somehow I don't think so.
