Hillary on 2004 Prez Bid: 'You Never Know'

New York Sen. Clinton continued to gin up speculation during her book tour in Great Britain this weekend that she's preparing to run for president in 2004, hinting during a television interview that such a move "might happen."

Appearing Friday on BBC Channel 4's "Richard and Judy Show," Mrs. Clinton was pressed on whether she might challenge President Bush as early as next year.

"You never know what might happen," she told the TV duo, after first dismissing as "rumors" reports that she was considering a run in 2004.

The day before, Mrs. Clinton was challenged by BCC radio interviewer Martha Kearney, who complained that the top Democrat's often repeated answer that she has "no intention" of running for president in either 2004 or 2008, "doesn't really rule anything out, does it?"

"Well, but it is as close as I can come," Mrs. Clinton responded.

In previous interviews with American reporters, the former first lady had been unequivocal about not running in 2004. "Absolutely, I'd say no," she told ABC's Barbara Walters, who asked last month if she'd accept a draft.

She would make a great VP nominee. All the old scandals would go away (old news). The Demon_rat presidential candidate would lose, forcing Catherine Medici Clinton to run for president in 2008. Media whores would explain that she was the strong one on the ticket in 2004 and therefore a natural in 2008. She would not have to run against an incumbent in 2008. It all fits.

If she simply acts presidential in 2004 and does not run, she will be number one anyway in 2008.

I do not know what kind of glue people are sniffing to let all this happen. I cannot think of anyone more repulsive than Lady Macbeth.

Mugawd, but that scenario's plausible.

Mine went thus: the 2004 ticket would be Edwards/Rodham. They'd win. Weeks before the Inauguration, Edwards dies in a plane crash, or a self-inflicted gunshot to the back of the neck, and in accordance with the Constitution, the PIAPS (Pig In A Pants Suit) is now legally President.

Both routes to power are frightening...

Same goddamn glue they sniffed when they elected her Senator. The problem, sine_nomine, is that people do not care anymore. They don't read newspapers, follow politics, read or understand the constitution, and nor are they surfing the internet doing independent research on politics or history.

Remember, the same idiots that vote for the American Idol, follow Britney Spears and her love life and skirt length, watch Harry Potter and think it is a classic, listen to Gang-banging rappers, and debate about what to get tatooed on their butts will be the ones voting for her.

Prediction. Hillary is waiting on the economy. If it starts ticking back up, she is definately out. If it stays in the doldrums or sinks, and she runs as Bill Clinton's boom 90's the third term.

Even though the economy started sliding during Clinton's last two quarters, she will be able to convince alot of people that everything was rosy during the Clinton years jobs wise. It will be "It's the economy stupid" all over again. She will be able to lie quite nicely with statistics. Even though the economic recession ended right before Clinton took over, it was falling from a peak. She will put out charts of economic numbers that make it appear that the internet bubble years were all wonderful magic created by her "partner". Again though, an economic uptick, and she waits it out til 2008.

"She's runnin,wait and see."

She ain't about to run unless she is an odds on favorite. So, I suspect she already has ballot boxes stuffed!

Colin Powell played the same game when he was on his book tour. Just a ploy to sell more books.

I believe Donald Trump also ran that b.s. up the flag when he had a book to sell as well.

They have Wesley Clark waiting in the wings to run as an independent in 2004, if needed, to split the Republican vote. All they need is for Bush to get a couple of bad breaks and 2004 could be the year for Herr Hitlery.

I have been skeptical about her running in '04, but I see the possibility increasing every day. WJC didn't enter his race until October 1992. If she sees the economy tanking and public dissatisfication growing with the "quagmire" in Iraq, she will get in this Fall. Another major terrorist attack in the next few months would be icing on the cake. Also, Hillary is nervous about her reelection in 2006, particularly if Rudy is interested in running.

Hillary has instant name recognition and a big bankroll. She can step in late and obliterate the rest of the Dem candidates. I think the odds of her running in '04 are at least 50-50.

First and worst mistake Bush did was not nipping the Clintons in the bud when he took office. Instead he called off the dogs. Gave the rat Clintons a free pass for all their treason.

Hillary will base her decision on looking in the mirror. She's getting older and uglier by the second and didn't start off so good. She needs to run while people aren't entirely repulsed by her sheer uglitude.

Hillary is much more lovely than Bella Pelosi, and Bella's had some sheet metal work done.
