[history]
Sacramento -- Opponents of the move to recall Gov. Gray Davis are asking their supporters to intimidate signature gatherers and complain of harassment at stores where recall petitions are circulating, stepping up the political battle taking place in front of Wal-Marts and Home Depots across California.

concentrated his efforts in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties. Only 7 percent of the recall signatures are coming from the Bay Area. Outsiders have an image that CA is a uniformly liberal state, when in fact it has a split personality. SoCal (even a lot of LA county) and the central Valley are pretty conservative, as this excerpt demonstrates.

It might benefit recall petitioners to videotape their representatives during their respective shifts. If they are harrassed by blockers, or if the blockers file false complaints, the videotape can be used a evidence against them, personally, in any complaint.

...they are trying to overturn a legal and fairly conducted election. I am glad to see that at least the left has figured out this piece of breaking news. One more time for the record - a recall is in fact designed to overturn an election. That is the main point or a recall!

That the Chronicle posts this is complete advocacy for the anti-petition group. Davis is enormously unpopular even in SF. It is always interesting to me that the ultra-left cannot win the battle of ideas and must resort to disruption to try to keep their status quo.

This doesn't surprise me. I know someone who lives there, and he was asked on entering a Supermarket .. "Davis Recall .. Would you sign please?"
He began to read the petition and was puzzeled. He began to ask questions, and was finally told that it was the Anti-Recall petition. Obviously he refused to sign it.
Myy point is that the Davis cronies are full of dirty tricks. Read all petitions before you sign them .. you may not be signing what the petitioner has implied it was for.

Yep the fake recall petitions are popping up all over the place. In my opinion, anyone who wasn't for the recall before, should be now after seeing him pull such a dirty trick. I think the California voters really need to show they won't stand for politicians who commit such blatent fraud in an attempt to keep their power.

Davis supporters say they are simply exercising their constitutional rights when they confront recall circulators.
But, when Conservatives voice THEIR opposition to LIEberal garbage, like the protests against Natalie Mange and the Blixie Slits...we are called Fascists, and haters!
Rush is wrong...leave no LIEberals alive!

Davis recall hotline that helps to send goons on the recall petition gatherers. Maybe we can report fake entries to the hotline so they would waste their time.
-from a democrat group-
A quick and easy way to fight the Rabid Recall efforts
of the Republicans: program the ANTI-RECALL phone
number in your cell phone. Whenever you see recall
petitioners, alert the hotline.
The number is (213) 382-4111.

Good idea. I will do several calls a day as I move around the area.
