OK, is there ANYTHING we can do about this, some legal standing upon which the US can act? Human-Rights abuse? Something?
If they do this, I hope all hell rains on them from those already resisting.

My guess is that they want this over before July 9. That apparently is the date four years ago of the last uprising and the government has been concerned that people will turn out en masse to celebrate it.

The mentality of the 8th century being brought to the front page. That should do it! They are declaring war against the population, expect the bloody revolution to begin. The isolated assassinations of mullahs will soon make news.

THis could, just could, be the "tipping point" that causes Iran to break out into full civil war....now, suppose the secularists..the majority of Iranians who like the US..announce a provisional government and appeal to the US to intervene and help stop them from being slaughtered, well, by George...w'eve got a few brigades, and lots of air support, nearby..

Your link doesn't work, and the reason for excerpting this important story at all completely escapes me.

Where are all these human rights activists when you need them. Oh I forgot - they are all at GITMO feeling sorry for the detainees!

sounds like something right outta the pages of the book 1984...if you ask me we need about 2 teams of spec-ops s.o.c.o.m to go in there and get there people out...they cant do this alone (the students)..
most of us have seen this before (tiannimen square anyone?) at least as far as the uprising goes at least..this new twist (sad as well) to the story with these executions..the only thing i can say is (to quote kurt russell from "tango and cash") this whole thing..F-cking sucks

Tien Amen squared.
The Persian Islamofascist families must retain control. What are a few examples? A few thousand? A few million? To challenge the ring leaders is to challenge Allah.
Iran is like France in area, population, and corruption. As a matter of fact, Iran is like what France is becoming. Will the French be required to speak Arabic or Farsi?

It's so typical of greaseballs around the world to execute innocent people.
Certainly the Iranian ayatollahs cannot be totally ignorant of the contempt with which they are held.

The Mullahs are cutting their own throats. Unless they can clamp down tight and quick this is going to send things sprialing out of control. And I don't think they have enough influence over the beauracracy or the military to do that.

The most interesting thing about this story is I'd bet some of the condemed really did have links to the "US secret services". At least I hope so. They'll die in the name of freedom for their people in much the same way as some of our ancestors did. Once the freedom spark has been struck it cannot be extinguished. It is a relative freedom though, for now they want a socialist government, socialism is better than sharia I suppose. Every journey begins with a single step, power to the people!

Iran's days are numbered and it is not a big number.
North Korea's days are numbered and its number's not much bigger.

I've had enough ! I've been watching for *years* and *years* these drunk-with-power-mullahs parade their ignorance and, prostitute their dignity to the lowest form of tyrany.
These kids are the Nelson Mandella of our time (suffering in jail while a failed regime opresses from ignorance) and Tehran will be the next Tiananmen square only the victory will be on the side of the free.
Theocracy = Tyrany
