Jihadists from around the world are being welcomed -- with open arms -- in Sudan.

Khartoum has once again become Grand Central Station for radical Islamist terror. This past January an international conference of over 66 Islamist groups was held in Sudan. The conference was announced in December by one of Osama Bin Laden¹s biggest supporters, the head of the dominant jihadist faction in the Pakistan Parliament.

Terrorism in Sudan is nothing new. Long before Osama bin Laden was made a guest of honor, Carlos the Jackal took up residence in his villa in Sudan. Following September 11th there was a public fuss about a crackdown in Khartoum, but the dust settled quickly and life for al-Qaeda returned to normal.

Islamic terror in North Africa was extraordinarily rampant in the '90's ... Algeria, Sudan, etc.

I Freepmailed you the man's track record. He's violated every cease-fire with the SPLA that he's signed and continues to support bin Laden post-9/11. That in of itself should be enough for us to welcome his annihilation. Compared to Bashir, Arafat is a paragon of diplomatic virtue.

I know. Our government is a bunch of complete idiots if they think they can ever trust Bashir. The question is not IF Bashir will break a peace deal but when. Sudan is definetely in need of a regime change. We should make sure that the SPLA would be ready for Bashir's perfidy, like maybe send a couple of carrier fleets to the Red Sea, and while we're at it temporarliy base some squadrons of aircraft in Djibouti and Ethiopia. Maybe even send some Special Forces to the area to help out.
