What was the issue difference between the law school and the undergrad school?

Separate admissions systems, separate cases, the facts of the matter were different. Wouldn't surprise me if they split the difference and throw out the undergrad system, that would sound like the sort of "political" decision the swing voters like O'Connor would make . . .
