Saddam is defeated, his empire scattered, and the powers of the middle east have seen the strongest Arab military crushed like a egg under the wheel of a semi. The full effect may not be apparent, but a major shift has taken place, and the world is a better place for it. Iran and Syria are now surrouned, and our will to strike when we percieve a threat has been established.
Yep, it feels good.

50 Americans dead and dying since "victory" in Iraq and Afghanistan is controlled by warlords who just produced a bumper opium crop. Does that "feel good" too?

Yep, it feels good.
It feels good, because it is good.

All that's true, and it's good. However, at some point there's going to have to be an accounting of the WMD's, and if they aren't found, the President will either have to explain where they went, or explain how everyone over the past dozen years got the intelligence analysis so incredibly wrong.
If that's the case, he'll get blamed for something that's not exclusively his screwup, but he's the one on watch, and that's where the buck stops.
