"Moose was positive enough about at least Muhammad's identity that he secretly dispatched a team of undercover agents, led by a Special Investigations Division commander, to stake out Muhammad's ex-wife's house two days before he was captured, as WorldNetDaily first reported."

I've always believed Moose knew who Willaims/Muhammad was long before the arrests too, and that Willaims/Muhhamad had something personal against Moose. Ergo, he was targeting Moose. WHY Moose would appear to have been protecting him I can't guess. At first I was inclined to cut him a break, but early on it began to appear that Moose was covering up something serious.

He may be covering up an episode about which only he and Willams/Muhammad know, or maybe he's just that much of a rabid racist. It's hard to conceive that a thinking being could be so irratinally racist as to allow the deaths of (I believe) 4 more people in order not to send his men after the real suspects, but the more I read about both him and his wife, the more plausable it sounds.

Glad Sperry believes something similar. Moose needs to be investigated for criminal obstruction of justice and interferance in a murder investigation and illegal use of procedure.

If Linda Franklin -- the FBI analyst the snipers killed in Virginia -- was working on the sniper investigation, as I believe she was, then I think it is far more likely than not that her death was not a mere coincidence: she was killed because she was part of the investigation, perhaps because some insider had tipped the snipers off about her, perhaps because the snipers wanted to make some point, to Moose or somebody else. But whatever the truth is, the explanation is likely to involve Moose somehow.

When I left this afternoon and was driving, I heard County Exec Doug Duncan's press conference defending Chief Moose -- what a great job Moose'd done and all the typical phrases and language I associate with coverup. If what I've read at WND is even half true, everything Duncan said is an outright lie and he knows it.

You both have interesting theories. I bet Paul Sperry is still on the case. I know he reads FR because I saw him at the Count the White House Silverware Party. I'm hoping he stays with the story since Sperry's appeared to have gained the trust of the the rank and file who aren't finished telling their stories yet.

So were some of the messages to Moose in a code that Moose could be expected to understand? It occurs to me that "duck in a noose" rhymes with "Moose" (as does "goose").
