Former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton tell-all memoir 'Living History' sold about 200,000 copies on its first day of publication, the book's pulbisher said on Tuesday.
Simon and Schuster says sales have been so brisk they are ordering another 300,000 copies of the book to be printed on top of the 1 million copies which were printed for Monday's launch.
Barnes and Noble the world largest bookseller, said 'Living History' set a one day sales record on Monday for a non fiction book at its stores.
The company in a statement said it shifted 40,000 copies in just 24 hours at retail stores and online.
Nationwide sales figures for other booksellers were not immediately available.

They shift a book when it was written by a shifty author.
I think they bitched it as well.

Shifted is the same as moved which is the same as sold.. In this case, shifty qualifiers are most apt..

Pulitzer Prize is right on track! Not if anyone's reading the reviews (New York Times, etc.) It's getting dissed big-time.

I was in Borders today. As you walk in, there is a display table, and her book was there. There was a display book, and 11 stacks of 4 books in each stack. I was in the store about 1/2 hour and I kept looking to see if anyone looked the book over. No one did and when I left, there were still 11 stacks of 4 books.

What is shifting in book sales parlance? It means: people who would buy this book are the same kind of people who would gawk at a train wreck.

Carefully planned moves by a latter-day Evita. Listening to this Hillarymania tripe has me singing: "Hair, clothes, smile, figure (OOPS!!)."
