Sorry to see nothing from Radiohead made the top 10. OK Computer is one of the best CDs of all time.

If it ain't got guitars, it's crap.

AMEN BROTHER!

Preferably loud, distorted guitars being played through Marshall amplifiers.

This list is embarrassing. "I Will Always Love You", by Whitney Houston? Madonna? Prince? Is this a joke?

The "LA Guns" part of GNR had most of the talent, IMHO - Axl had a lot of energy (when he wasn't strung out) but "Appetite for Destruction" referred more to self-destruction than anything else. If immaturity were water that guy would be the Grand Coulee Dam.

What ruins a rock band, IMHO, is nothing more complicated than the smugness of someone who is riding a scam successfully and knows it. You can be angry and defiant (and broke) for only so long before you kill yourself, but you can pretend you are for only a little longer than that before everybody figures you out. The best bands evolve, or dissolve and reform into something else. Or they take long vacations (Rush) or they just continue using old material until the nostalgia picks them up and they end up playing geriatric Oldies concerts at the local tribal casinos. Three Dog Night was in town a couple of months back, God help us all.

No Rush? Maiden? and only one AC/DC song? Good grief!! Where were these people for the past 25 years? Probably over on CHR stations. Might as well have that guy Sir Mix a Lot on there as well. That had to be about as annoying as Vanilla Ice or whatever his name was

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" the greatest song of the past quarter-century.

The last 25 years!!! Get real.

They are on more drugs than Cobain

I am a HUGE B-52s fan. But the song that should have made the top ten is 'Devil in My Car' from Wild Planet. Wild Planet has to be one of the most under rated album ever. It was the perfect combo of punk/edge rock and new wave.

I got Bob Seger "Old Time Rock and Roll". I think that was from 78. That was an F-YOU to disco.

HAHAHAHHAHA! That was awesome. How 'bout some Hot Lava with that? Man, the early B's were incredible.

Well, I can think of better wedding anthems. But are you sure it wasn't when you played Whole Lotta Rosie that the relationship started turning sour? ;-)

Why former?

In the sense I dont hang with them anymore, or travel like I used to. Im listening to Scarlet/Fire right now from Portland in 1980. There are a few websites where you can download live sets for free. I still listen to them, and collect the shows. Ah those were the days...

Ah those were the days...

Yes they were.

And I will always respect people who could make it across the Country and back, see 15 to 20 already sold out shows they have no tickets for on half a tank of gas, one loaf of bread and two cans of tuna fish.

”Let there be songs…”

Top lists have come to mean nothing. This one is obviously based on nothing with any reason. You will notice the huge come back of the great bands like Pink Floyd. Led Zepplin, and even Peter Frhampton. These are comming back because there is a thirst even in the younger generation for music created via talent. Music that contained something other than a bunch of wineing and a computer generated rythem. Whoever made this list obviously has no appreciation for such things. Most of the songs on that list have come and they have gone...Never to return in any great way if at all. I can say a great deal more about songs like Stairway to Heaven and Comfortably Numb. Even 20 years from now the kids will recognize them.

Pretty good choice, though I think some of their other material (esp the second half of "Nevermind") was even better.

I agree. However, this list seems to be made of songs that received substantial radio/video airplay and while Nirvana has much better songs than SLTS, this was the song that put Nirvana on the map and changed rock music.
