FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COALITION RESPONDS TO FICTIONAL AL SA'AH NEWSPAPER ARTICLE

Coalition Responds to Fictional Al SA’AH Newspaper Article

CAMP DOHA, Kuwait - A recent claim by the Al Sa’ah newspaper that U.S. forces raped two girls in the Wasit governate on June 7 is absolutely false.

We take any claim of this nature extremely seriously, have looked into the allegations and found nothing whatsoever to substantiate the accusations - including checking local hospital records.

After conducting a thorough investigation into this supposed account, we know this report is inaccurate, irresponsible, and purposefully attempts to damage the credibility of our forces and our efforts to create a secure and stable environment for the people of Iraq.

It should be noted that the Al-Sa'ah newspaper supported the Ba'ath party and Saddam Hussein while in power, and its Chairman, Ahmad Qubaysi, previously called for the unity of Shi'a and Sunni Muslims to confront the U.S. presence.

The Al Sa’ah newspaper clearly and blatantly abused its recently attained freedom to report responsibly to the Iraqi people.

Furthermore, this report contradicts the efforts made by the budding Iraqi media establishment to provide honest, fair, and accurate journalism to the public.

Coalition forces will take every step necessary to correct this report and ensure the Iraqi media becomes a credible source of information for the public.

CENTCOM Recovery and Security logs detail the awesome efforts of our troops across Iraq daily.

The sources are trustworthy. The facts are verifiable.

The press who sold us Baghdad Bob's lies and defended the monster who oppressed the Iraqi people for over 24 years mocks the primary news source on Iraq.  Our enemies know how to find the press - and how to use them.

Our press claims to support the troops.  Bunk.

Their selective, negative, dishonest news coverage incites dissent and violence.  It endangers our troops. It strengthens our enemies around the world.

They knew the wrath of the world elite would drown out the sound of the cheering Iraqi people just after the Coalition rode into Baghdad when they blamed the troops for the (170,000 -> now 30) looted antiquities - accused them of caring more about oil than the "priceless history of the Iraqi people."  They knew when they accused us of starving Iraqi children, or wilfully shooting civilians, or mass casualties - children shot by the Fedayeen - peddled by the Iraqi Info Ministry - and then by OUR press as Coalition victims.

They know what they do today.

Go back and read the daily CENTCOM logs. For every Coalition casualty - we take out or arrest FAR more regime dead-enders and terrorist-wannabes. Our troops are also rebuilding the power infrastructure, bringing water back to the southern marshlands, working across Iraq WITH the Iraqi people - hundreds of news-worthy efforts weekly.

The UN 'refugee' city - ablaze in light - had a handful of refugees last week - Palestinians, according to Mark Steyn. Iraqi people are returning to Iraq - not leaving - because OUR Coalition troops risked their lives and removed Saddam and his Baath Party from power and our Coalition troops continue to risk their lives far from home for strangers - staying to secure the peace.

Over 24 million newly freed Iraqi people after 24 years in bondage, provided with mountains of weapons from our enemies, chose not to use them against us. Over 24 million newly freed Iraqis and over 150,000 Coalition troops in a nation the size of Germany - and fewer than 12 Coalition casualties per week on average is far from "chaos or anarchy".  Our troops, as SOD Rumsfeld says, continue to perform magnificently!  Family members hearing from troops on the ground will attest - the Iraqi people are grateful.

Unfortunately, the news the Iraqi people hear is often the news we hear - and far worse from our enemies with their own mighty pens, as this CENTCOM news release shows.

We can not stop other nations from printing lies about the America, our efforts in Iraq and the American military. Decades of leftist "military industrial complex" and "Great Satan" propaganda is being debunked by those with eyes to see...

...but OUR MILITARY, OUR TROOPS, AMERICA, THIS PRESIDENT and the free world deserves far better from the FREE AMERICAN press.
