United States officials compiling an inventory of a looted Iraqi nuclear site found more radioactive material than they expected, Pentagon officials said Thursday.
It is unclear whether the discovery means the American's information was wrong or Iraqis had moved material to the Tuwaitha site before the war, said three top military and defense officials who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity.
The officials didnt say how much material they expected to be at Tuwaitha or how much more they found.
They said they could not determine if any radioactive material had been stolen from the storage site about 30 miles southeast of Baghdad. Earlier, US officials in Iraq said at least 20 percent of the sites radioactive material was missing.
American forces have collected more than 100 empty metal barrels and five radiological devices by paying $3.00 bounties for items suspected of having been looted from Tuwaitha, the defense officials said Thursday.

One of these days we are bound to hit paydirt and all these harpies going around here sing-songing about "No WMD's, ha, ha, ha" are going to get a much deserved kick in the stomach.

This report is the start of it. They keep on stepping in it, don't they? Are they learning disabled?

Boy the 2004 General Election is going to be a train wreak for the Democrat Party when W produces the hardcore facts.

And we will probably hit paydirt by giving some poor Iraqi a $3.00 bounty..

Not bad for 3 bucks. Unfortunately, tomorrow we'll be told the barrels were merely empty Vermont Maple Syrup containers.

One of these days we are bound to hit paydirt and all these harpies going around here sing-songing about "No WMD's, ha, ha, ha" are going to get a much deserved kick in the stomach. They have already secured their escape route: they've been saying we've had enough time to bring our own WMD there.
Anything is possible in a liberal's mind...

No kidding! On my drive home from work yesterday I heard an ABC News commentary on the radio. It was disguised as a bottom of the hour news report. The gent (can't recall his name) ended his 'no WMD found, why did we go to war' spiel by stating the CIA would plant some. Unbelievable.

What's even funnier, I've been hearing the same stuff in Hungary. The liberal media plays the same spin all around the globe...
