Lining up on the dump-Davis side are anti-tax crusaders, a former Republican assemblyman who's making recall petitions available on the Internet and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista, who is bankrolling much of the effort.
..anti-tax crusaders ? :-| No.
How about anti-bad government crusaders?
That is a noble cause. We must expell the spendrels from Sacramento and foster a more FRugal govt or we shall lose everything.

(Recall Gray Davis and then start on the other Democrats)
To: NormsRevenge
I worry a bit about this.
* All voters are rightly skeptical of recalls and impeachments, and responsive to the allegation that they are motivated by partisanship, not principal
* California voters are basically liberal-leaning.
* More Ds than Rs will be interested in the Presidential ballot if the recall is consolidated with the March '04 primary.
* Democratic-leaning special interest groups in California are huge, rich, and well-organized. Republican-leaning special interest groups ... not so much. The D-leaning groups are going to put the cattleprod to their voters like nothing that's ever been seen before.
* Even if Grey is recalled, a Democrat could easily be elected in his place.
All this seems to me that we might unnecessarily hand the Democrats a huge, nationally-conspicuous victory, just as we're rolling up to re-elect W. It makes me recall Harris Wofford's special election victory over Bush-proxy Dick Thornburgh in Pennsylvania in late 1991 -- this win more than anything elese put a taste of victory in the mouths of D's who thought that Gulf War victory Bush Sr. couldn't be beat. The Clinton campaign used the Wofford playbook with great effect, particularly the populist language with which he distanced himself from the hard left and appealled to moderates. (Wofford's biggest tagline was "If every criminal deserves a lawyer, doesn't every hard-working American family deserve a doctor?")

Phil Reynolds is a waste of oxygen!
Funny how when Republicans do anything wrong we are hounded to the ends of the earth. But when DemonicRATics do anything wrong, we are supposed to "Move on, put it behind us...."

Tom McClintock had an article in today's L.A. Daily News about taking over his family budget using the Davis strategy - very funny. I couldn't find it at the paper's site or anywhere else.

I have about 50 people here in the office who want to sign the petition. Is there any reason to choose one petition over another?
I need advise ASAP. :)
To: BunnySlippers
If you are talking about the recall petition, there is only one official petition that has been approved by the Sec. of State. While there is more than one group in the state organized to promote the recall and distribute petitions, there is only one petition. It doesn't matter which group's website you go to to download the petition. You can go to RecallGrayDavis.com and download yours. Don't let those signers get away!!
