1878-1880 Afghans defeat British. This one was left out of the list. So I guess it was both the Americans and the Afghans that beat the British.

Good point the afghan campaigns. But the brits never really took control of Afghanistan, the wars were more a series of aborted invasions and no real full scale battles.
