1938 AD World War II-Won(Barely) 15 million dead Chinese vs 2 million dead Japanese but defeats Japan's army in Mainland East Asia, and regains Eastern coast, Manchuria, Hainan, and Taiwan.

15 MILLION Chinese died during WWII?
That's really interesting. I never knew that.

If it weren't for us, the Brits would be batting close to 1.000 for about the last 1,000 years.

15 MILLION Chinese died during WWII? That's really interesting. I never knew that.

The Sino-Japanese War of 1933?-1945 (aka WWII in the Pacific) was probably one of the most savage wars in the 20th century, if not the most savage. I've actually heard the death toll for the Chinese to be a little higher.(Around 20 million)

1689 AD French And Indian Wars- Won British forces crushed the French defense in Canada and took over Montreal

Whaaa.... Thought the French and Indian War was in the 1750's. I had an ancestor who served. George Washington did, too.

French Canada fell to General Wolfe on the battlefield at the Plains of Abraham, Sept 13, 1759.

1689, now that might be King William's War, when England won Nova Scotia and sent the Acadians (Cajuns) packing to Louisiana. A war against the French, but not the French and Indian War.

Sparta,

I'd heard of it, but wasn't aware of the vast number of deaths related to this tragic war.

Based on the lead i'll be checking more into it. thanks

What's interesting to note is that virtually all of these battles have been West vs. West or East Vs. East, rarely ever the West vs. the East.

Well, there isn't too much to write about for the first 1600 hundred years of our history. What am I suppose to put down, the various stone-age conflicts of the native americans?

But would that not neglect the contributions of other cultures within the U.S aside from the Anglo-Saxon one?

Seems to me that the only time East vs West wars happened was through some kind of invasion involving Nomadic tribes in Central Asia, and the only real West vs East conflicts are found during the 19th century when the West industrialized and the East mostly did not.

1878-1880 Afghans defeat British. This one was left out of the list. So I guess it was both the Americans and the Afghans that beat the British.
