Study: Handsome Men Produce Best Sperm

LONDON (Reuters) - Handsome men produce the best quality semen and beautiful women seem to have good voices, according to scientists.

When researchers at the University of Valencia in Spain tested the quality of male sperm and then later asked women to rank the attractiveness of the donors it produced some interesting results.

"They found that men with the most attractive faces also make the best quality sperm," New Scientist magazine said on Wednesday.

In another study, researchers at the University of Nottingham in England compared the quality of female voices and their facial features. After playing recordings of 30 young women to men, who ranked them in order, the researchers asked them to look at their pictures and choose the most striking faces.

"The men judged women with the nicest voices as the most attractive, on average," the magazine added.

Other studies have shown that what most people would consider the most handsome or pretty, are also the ones that seem to produce the most healthy offspring.

Humans seem to pick the best mates instinctively, based on looks, but there's more to it than that. And that's one of the reasons why I find the entertainment industry shallower than "Shallow Hal" when they produce movies like it and Shrek. Beauty and health seem to go hand in hand.

The man picks the woman who looks good because she'll be more likely to remain healthy during the raising of the children. The woman picks a good looking man because he'll more than likely remain healthy to help provide financially for the children.

Outside of the normal desires that drive both sexes to seek the more handsome mate, we find that there's more to it than mere lust. The lefties sure have a problem with this even though they practice the "do as I say, not what I do" ideology to a tee.

This could stem from psychological factors, though. Beautiful women are more self-confident because society makes it clear they are valued more.

There were experiments done where male college students would talk on the phone to female college students. They were given just a picture of the female student they thought they were talking to. Guys with pretty pictures in front of them were much more positive on the phone towards the girl, and in response the female student spoke with more confidence.

The sperm thing, though, isn't so easy to explain away.

Part of it could be due to better health. Persons with better health may have higher quality sperm. We, as humans, tend to consider people better-looking who have better health as measured by visible standards (weight, for instance).
