Man arrested for axing dog to death

Updated: May 27, 2003 4:54 PM

An Oklahoma City man has been arrested in connection with a horrifying case of animal cruelty.

Gary Don Overbey, 39, was arrested over the holiday weekend. According to police, he chopped off the head of his mixed breed dog. Overbey told officers the dog was sick and he didn't want to see the animal in misery.

The suspect allegedly struck the dog with an axe four to five times in the throat.

Well, better to put it out of its misery, right?

Let's see if you can get a couple thousand posts on this one, too...although the key component of sex is missing from this topic.

Always judge a man according to the way he treats a dog. He'll treat you no better.

In Kalifornia, this guy would have been just one of many wonderful Asian immigrants, preparing a holiday weekend barbecue...

Man arrested for axing dog to death

He axed and axed but the dog always gave him the same answer: "woof". He should have rephrased his question.

What really steams me is the fact that this twit could have (if the animal was REALLY SUFFERING!!) had it put down by the local animal shelter for a very nominal fee, about the cost of a six pack...
Guess he had his priorities... Zipperhead

If the dog was sick and living a miserable existence, how difficult would it have been to take it to get euthanized?

I dunno, he was probably too lazy to axe anyone.

Cavtrooper added some flying penises to this story, if that helps.
