WBAI Pacifica Radio (or as I call it, "Far Left Weirdo Radio") ran that speech earlier this evening. The host was falling all over himself praising Byrd for his moral clarity and his courage. A bold soul called him up and wanted to know how he could hold an ex-KKK man up as a paragon of virtue, and the host said, "I guess you don't believe in redemption." (If I had been the caller, I would have said, "I guess you only believe in redemption for people who say what you want to hear.") My feeling of having gone through the looking glass was complete when a later caller branded this first caller a racist.

Why does the old Klasnman's senile rants make headlines? Someone communicate with the Klansman however is necessary, perhaps with cartoons or pop-up books- whatever works with the drooling oldie- that the US has had a month to search for WMDs. The UN had four and a half months. The Klansman should shut his mouth, at least for three and a half months. We don't want to hear "Are we there yet?" from him until then. If he's still alive then, he can ask the question.
