I heard a snippet about an hour ago on G. Gordon Liddy's show that he was looking for some "tape" (not sure if it was audio or video) that had been doctored by CNN re coverage of recent "assault" gun legislation.
Liddy said he was trying to get an NRA comment soon.
Searched CNN found nothing sorry if double post.
Anyone have more info?

CNN lying would not be news. My impression was that they had actually modified a quote somehow. But I am not listening to Mr. Liddy any more (at work now) so I don't know if he followed up.

There are organizations that record newscasts for posteriety.

Something that I always bounce off the sheeple who unthinkingly swallow this sort of agitprop is, "If the cause to disarm the American public is such a noble one, why must these people continually lie in order to further their agenda"?

I saw some CNN story, they are having "caniption fits" over the eradication of the leftist legacy CNN helped usher into the us gov. The media bias they used to push their agenda is being erased. CNN does not get it, they are no longer a relevant piece of media. They were a disgraced NYT before the NYT.
CNN markets themselves to the lowest common denominator in the global market. Markets where freedom of speech is far more controlled. (like EU's limitation on public criticism of the EU) If CNN does not do and promote the opinions of the foreign (oops CNN preferes international, its more PC) governemtns they would not get their broadcast lic.
Keep going CNN pretty soon you will be lower in ratings than the phill donahue show.

(like EU's limitation on public criticism of the EU) Is this merely media practice or actually legislated?

For some reason I can't get the video You'll need Macromedia Flash player to view the NRA Live site (available here). You'll also need the RealPlayer to view the video (available here).

Thanks for posting that. I think Fox News should be apprised of this so they can do their own exposé of this abomination of reporting committed by CNN.

On a related note they are calling Ari's departure a "shake-up" in the administration. Some news boob slipped and called it a CABINET shake-up.
What maroons. To me, shake-up implies something done by the boss to multiple individuals.

I hope LaPierre is not being manuevered into something here. He stated "there's not a dimes worth of difference between guns on the list, and guns not on the list". It's true of course, but that may open up the retort "Obviously more guns need to be added to the list, and the bill now in him the House will do just that", Which is also true, in spades. It appears that the House bill would pretty much ban all semi-automatic center fire firearms, certainly anything with a pistol grip or thumbhole stock, and argueably many without even that feature.
I would much prefer to see LaPierre arguing that the ban was and is ineffective in combating misue of guns, and that, oh by the way, it's completely and unambiguously unconstitutional.
