If I am not mistaken, it is not that "gay" boys are not allowed in the scouts, but rather that openly homosexual adult mails are not allowed to serve as leaders, and that any form of sex is prohibited at scouting activities. The BSA seeks to help instill a moral foundation in its scouts. I see no reason why scouting would not give boys experimenting with homosexuality a much healthier alternative.

Male homosexuals are homosexuals, not 'gay'. I use the word I choose, not the word the homosexuals want society to use to obfuscate the deviancy of their behaviors.

The word once used was "queer" meaning strange behavior. Then it was homosexual and now gay, but what's gay about homosexual behavior. Note, I'm addressing behavior, not the person.

Then it's okay if your buddies call your girlfriend a skank?

Confusing name-calling with objective criticism of ones behavior I see, it’s the only way you can frame that argument.

And I call that: "paranoid," not the word that you think describes your obsession... "normal."

Hehehe…I’m pretty sure he’s not the one with the pathological “obsession” for the male fecal tract. But “normal” is definitely not the word that comes to mind for those who practice perversion.

This is about freedom of association and the right of an organization to determine its own values and to protect its members.

The United Way also has that right. We just need to be aware that the United Way's values are incompatible with conservatism.

saying the local Boy Scouts of America affiliate failed to abide by an agreement requiring it to help gay youths cope with their sexuality.

The Boy Scouts "dealt with their sexuality" quite appropriately...they told the gays to stay away from other boys by getting the hell out of the Boy Scouts!

I will never give to those scumbags again!

This is old news...years old. No one should give a penny to ANY United Way affiliate ANYWHERE in the U.S. They have proven themselves to be enemies of American families. Let them wither on the vine and blow away.

The grant serves primarily to pay the salaries of scout leaders in low-income areas including Little Havana, Liberty City, Homestead and Hialeah. About 4,200 kids, most between ages 6 and 17, will be directly affected by the cuts, she said.

The liberals are eating their own. The pink-tights and feather boas contingent of the Lib-Dem Party has strongarmed the UW into taking away funds earmarked for the children of inner city minorities--the Democrats' most loyal voting block.

Boycott United Way! I don't understand how any red-blooded American can support an intolerant and blatant boy-bashing institution such United Way.

When I was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in the 1960s, I don't think I knew what a homosexual was. Now if you don't actively embrace homosexuals you're branded as evil. Mark my words, if this perverted trend isn't reversed the Boy Scouts will be pressured to admit pedophiles within 40 years from now.

BSA advocates a healthy lifestyle. For that reason adults cannot smoke at Scouting functions. Yet, smoking if five-times safer than male homosexuality. Why is United Way promoting the genocide of confused young men by endorsing one of the most unhealthy and dangerous lifestyles in our society today?

By depriving underprivileged boys of leaders, the United Way is depriving these boys the opportunity to enroll in the best youth program the world has ever seen. Society as a whole will pay the price of youth gone bad who otherwise would have learned to live according to the Scout Law; society will pay the price of foregone leadership development within the underprivileged community. Such bad decision making would be folly if it weren't utterly evil.

United Way in Dade ends Boy Scout funding

Well, then I certainly hope that the decent, traditional American families of Dade end their United Way funding. I know I will never give a dime to those disgusting scumbags.

Have a great day,
LH

Yes, the United Way IS like this all over America.

I first found out that United Way strongly supports Planned Parenthood and lesbian dominated Girl Scouts programs a while back and made sure that nothing that ever gets my monies goes through the United Way.

The term "United" Way actually referrs to all that is pc.

The gay agenda is not popular throughout Miami-Dade county. The REPEAL of the Gay Rights law a while back got the support of 70% of Hispanics (largely Cubans), but turnout for the Democratic primary on that day by blacks (who split evenly on the issue) and "Anglos" (Who opposed repeal by 80%) caused the measure to fail, meaning the sodomites were dancing in the streets of South Beach.

The BSA policy is, in effect, don't ask, don't tell. I've never known anyone to ask when recruiting either leaders or scouts. But, if they make it known, both boys and leaders must be excluded. By ensuring that homosexual leaders are not held up as acceptable role models, BSA is providing not only a moral foundation for the boys (On my honor I will do my best...to keep myself...morally straight), but they are also providing a health model (on average, male homosexuality deprives one of 25 to 30 years of life, whereas smoking--which is also prohibited in Scouting--deprives one of only 5 years of life) and helping to protect the Scouts from sexual molestation (male homosexuals are roughly 10 times more likely to molest children than are male heterosexuals). In short, I'm quite comfortable with the BSA's decision to keep both homosexual leaders and boys out of the program.

There was a great deal of missinformation directed at the elderly Cuban in Miami on this issue. I voted against repealing the amendment by the way.

The first thing was that a lot of people were using scare tactics, elderly Cubans thought that what they were voting against was a "law" which would allow gays to marry. I don't like those kinds of tactics when Liberals engage in them, much less when supposed conservatives do.

What was actually on the ballot, was a petition to repeal a 1998 amendment to the county's equal rights laws which disallows discrimination based on sexual orientation.

In other words, some people in Miami wanted the right to discriminate against people whom THEY THOUGHT MAY BE GAY!

People hiring for jobs, or renting houses, or offering one sort of service or another would have the ability to discriminate against ANYONE AT ALL by claiming that they thought that person was gay.

If the black/Cuban guy interviewing for a job in your company looks "gay" to you, and says that he is not when you ask him outright, you can simply not hire using the "gay" excuse.

Why have anti-discrimination laws at all if you allow such a ridiculous loophole?

On the same subject however, this move by the United Way supports the fact that I've refused to donate to them for the past several years.

The Boy Scouts of America is a private, non-commercial, not-for-profit organization, promoting a certain set of values. They have a right to set standards for membership based on Christian values. And while United way has the right to disagree with their decision and withold fundiong, I have the right to withold funding from them, and send my donations directly to the BSA.

Wonderful how America works
