Michael Moore has found backing from Miramax for his next documentary, after Mel Gibson's Icon Productions withdrew, published reports said today (Tuesday), citing sources familiar with the deal. Titled Fahrenheit 911, the film reportedly will allege that the families of President Bush and Osama bin Laden have a working relationship. Today's New York Daily News reported that Icon's deal with Moore was originally drafted by Gibson's partner, Bruce Davey, while Gibson was in Italy. The newspaper quoted a source as saying that when Gibson found out about it, "he didn't want any part of it. He figured he had enough controversy on his hands" with his film about Jesus' last days, The Passion, which reportedly reflects his traditionalist Catholic beliefs.

Don't worry. None of those people who reviled Gibson here will apologize.

So let me get this straight, I am very confused: Disney is going to fund a film saying Bush and Osama are business buddies because that isn't too controversial, but Gibson had to self-fund a film showing the traditional Christian passion of Christ because that's too controversial for a major film studio?

Don't worry Mel, I wouldnt want any part of picking upMichael Moore either. Ow, hernia city.

Nothing to be confused about: you see, according to Hollywood, Christianity is the ultimate evil.
To: Paul Atreides
Moore is one of them big fat slobs you see in high school chumping up to the chicks who dug the star athletes.
What a pathetic waste of a human being. Everyone should disregard his movies and let them crash and burn.

disney gay days june 3-9, 2003 I thought it was ONE day. Now it's a whole WEEK?
To: Paul Atreides
That was a no-brainer. I didn't even read the thread.
Anybody who knows Mel Gibson and his work, as well as his religious beliefs, would have to know it was total BS.
However, I would like to know who is going to do a documentary on ChiCom and the Democrats from 1991 through 2000.

I don't think he likes girls.
In fact, I think that's the main reason he has such a you-know-what for Bush.
To: Paul Atreides
I knew there was MORE to that story on MOORE, and Gibson supposedly picking up his POS....I just knew it!

Well, I wouldn't say "principles" exactly. If he said he wasn't doing the film because he didn't like the purpose of it, or he doesn't like Moore's politics, or he only wants to make films that support Bush, &c. then *that* would be principles. He's saying he doesn't want to back the movie because he's afraid of controversy. "I've got enough controversy on my hands right now. I don't want people who hate Moore to hate me too."
That's cowardice. Even if the end result is something that you'd find desirable.

Let Moore rant and rave. The more Moore talks, the better the right looks. Moore is an embecile.
To: Hatman
Funny, the quote was from someone other than Mel. So, I wonder what his real feelings are?

Mel is a man of conviction, and I believe he'd not put up with Moore's garbage.
Ping... How are you? Hope things are fine! Say hi to Mel for me...
