Not to be a stickler for journalistic precision or anything, but is that "reporters and editors" of the NYT or the WashPost? And what is their fury about? That Blair got the boot? That he was tolerated so long?

Ahhhhhhh....I see what you are getting at. this is a huge lover's spat. They turned on poor Jayson as a pre-emptive strike. Was Jayson about to reveal something about the NYT Editorial Board that they would rather not have revealed?
