About the only chance the reporters on the Times have of salvaging their reputations is to do some hard nose reporting themselves.

I'm gratified that Drudge is covering this story so aggressively. For one brief moment, I thought that the giant banner ads for the NYTines Drudge has been running on his site might cause him to soft-peddle it.
Sorry I ever doubted ya Matt...

It is about freekin' time that the Times is given an unanesthetized exploratory colonoscopy with three foot long Mag-light.
Rumor also has it that Blair was boy toy to the old white guys who run the rag.

Here's the part I don't understand: Hasn't the NYT pretty much been making sh*t up for years?
To: Petronski
Yeah, I saw that thread. But this post has the latest info Drudge put up.

You're darned right they have. Not new to us. But it's a
shock to them that someone finally beat them at their own game.

"Reporters and editors, furious at executive editor Howell Raines, have quietly started a 'work slow-down'" Not to be a stickler for journalistic precision or anything, but is that "reporters and editors" of the NYT or the WashPost? And what is their fury about? That Blair got the boot? That he was tolerated so long?
To: friendly
Rumor also has it that Blair was boy toy to the old white guys who run the rag.Ahhhhhhh....I see what you are getting at. this is a huge lover's spat. They turned on poor Jayson as a pre-emptive strike. Was Jayson about to reveal something about the NYT Editorial Board that they would rather not have revealed?
Hmmmmmmm.

Exactly. And now when he blows the, uh, "whistle" they'll just say he's making up stuff just like he did when he was a reporter. Pretty neat, huh? As they say, old age and treachery beat youth and enthusiasm every time!
