Students at Piper High are getting a crash course in politics after student government elections problems erupted amid complaints of racism, election rigging, physical threats and improper campaigning. The controversy started when administrators changed election criteria to encourage more students to get involved with student government. Although almost half of Piper students are black, only a handful of the members of student government are. Unfortunately, it's upset some people," Tom Geismar, superintendent for north central area schools, said of the changes. "But it's also opened up the process to some other students." The move was perceived by some of the white students as racial pandering at best and, at worst, the principal's determination to install a black student as president. They protested. Then came the backlash, alleged threats and intimidation from black students.

Piper High School- Remember teacher, Christine Pelton?
Pelton quit after the board that runs the Piper School District went 'soft' on the 28 students plagiarizing a project in her biology class.
To: fight_truth_decay
Pelton was at Piper High School in Kansas. This is Piper High School in Florida.

Did anyone else catch the fact that the ones that started the whole mess and then broke the rules aren't even Americans?

I think the adminstration got involved in an "affirmative action" attempt to pick a president.

Actually, I was thinking that was so typical. People come to this country and we are supposed to give them want ever they want and the

From the article:
Gouldbourne says the students have given up because school administrators are fanning racial tensions, not quelling them. When she turned in an election application for her white friends, she says assistant principal Julius Ellington "told me, `Don't forget where you come from.' Which basically means, `Don't forget you're black.'"

I think the administration got involved in an "affirmative action" attempt to pick a president. I think you are right as indicated by this -
"She was rubbing her skin. She said, this will get you as far as you want to go, and I was thinking, `I'll get far because I'm qualified,'" Gouldbourne said.
Minorities have learned exactly what the left wanted them to learn, how to rig the system. This can only result in racial division, as seen here, rather than racial harmony. The left wants a divided and polarized America so that it will be easier to conquer.

We can ascertain one thing, these kids were not conservatives because if they called themselves that they would have gone fetal at the first call of their "racism."

What's next, the Rainbow Coalition shows up? Sheesh, the fact that those students causing the problems violated the rules(they may or may not be citizens, that remains to be seen). But what irks me the most is the administration is in collusion. It shouldn't be a surprise, though, I mean we know the Public School system is a tool of the libs, and here, they're just making sure that the lessons are taught on how to subvert and destroy our way of life.

Who's Bill O'Reilly? Oh yeah. I used to watch part of his show now and then.
All of a sudden, they kept putting on the same show, night after night. I gave up on it.

Gouldbourne pointed out that the "white" presidential candidate, Jaclynn Reinhard, is actually "100 percent Spanish," but no one realizes it because she "looks as white as white can be." OK, if she were "Spanish" wouldn't she be a white person from Spain? She could be "Latino," but people from Latin America can be of ANY race.
I think the racil classification system in this country is as idiotic as the people who created it.

"
They're not used to competition," said Piper student Jasmine Santana. It sounds as though "politically correct" dysrons in the Administration have redefined competition to suit egalitarian (communist) notions of fairness. It is clear from the article, that the ruckus started when they changed the rules, to lower the standards, ignoring the preparation that had been required and accomplished by those now accused of being "not used to competition" by students who previously elected not to compete!

she didn't meet Piper High's requirements, among them that students who run for election must be members of student government for at least one year and take a leadership class. What, you expect us follow the rules??? I am tired of the double standards, it is no different than demanding to taking advanced algebra courses without taking addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and maybe even algebra 101. This isn't about fairness, it's about reverse racism. EVERYONE knew the prerequisites for running but some didn't want to have to prepare themselves for leadership roles, they just wanted the glory not the responsibility. jeeeeze!

..now accused of being "not used to competition" by students who previously elected not to compete! Exactly my point. They "elected not to compete", they want it handed to them without being prepared for the responsibility.
