Now a steadfast opponent and outspoken leader against the use of U.S. military force...

Nothing says "qualified military leader" like being a pacifist absolutist.

Who are these people - the NPC - that they'd support anyone who praised Hussein and damned US? Who elected them and who holds them accountable?

I truly hate to defend the press, but the National Press Club is a membership organization of reporters, editors, etc. It's NOT partisan, but I grant that most of its members are probably liberals.

The NPC would say (and I would generally agree with them) that they have speakers of all political stripes. They don't support Clark anymore than they support Drudge, who gave a great speech (much better than most of his radio shows) at NPC several years ago during his book tour.

I do agree that the NPC description of Clark is relatively mild (probably to avoid characterization). They could have mentioned that he is a friend of every anti-American dictator.

I think it's safe to say that Cuba's a beautiful country and Castro knows how to put out the welcome mat to the left. He'd probably have quite a pleasant time in Cuba.

Better wish him a permanent stay in North Korea instead.

As one FReeper's sign said "pacifists are the parasites of freedom."

Clark is much worse than a pacifist. IMHO, he supports the tyrants when they wage war. If North Korea attacked tomorrow, Clark would blame it on the U.S.

I would so love to be there tomorrow. I have the day off. It would be one of the greatest birthdays ever. I suppose I could make it to DC before it starts (from CNY). But I'll pass this time for some sleep. Give us a little more heads up. You guys do a great job. I try to keep up with all your exploits. Even opened a few archives for laughs. Keep up the good work, God Bless and I hope to join you some day. I await a post detailing some kind of FReep.

Right you are, but when I said:

"spend his last days in a gulag in North Korea or Cuba."

I meant a gulag in North Korea or a gulag in Cuba.

Those demonstrations attracted hundreds of thousands of protestors.

That's one thousand demonstrations utilizing the same one hundred protestors each time.

bump!

(A vote for "loveable" JFK brought this radical Leftist to a position of power and respect in the US government without another vote.)

The NPC would say (and I would generally agree with them) that they have speakers of all political stripes.

Sure, but would they provide a forum for someone like, say, David Duke who is at least as far to the extreme right as Ramsey Clark is to the extreme left?

You know damn well they wouldn't, and that their membership would be up in arms of they did.

This is WELL beyond the pale. That said, it will at least provide an oppportunity for further educating the public about the influence of far-left extremism behind the "peace" movement.

I can't make it.

Incidentally, I don't mind that Mr. Clark is defending Slobodan Milosevich, as he is being tried by the NWOrld Court.

Clark was AG under LBJ. I assume that you are saying that Clark was a Assistant or Deputy AG or had some other office under JFK?

No, that the death of JFK brought in a new Demo admin and this guy without a vote.

Make it North Korea anyway.

Frozen, depressing gulag wins every time.

He richly deserves it, that's for sure.

This is on C-SPAN now if anyone is interested. He's getting a thunderous applause talking about impeaching Bush.
