did you notice something bizarre in this article? it says:
"Despite widespread speculation that White might be fired, Rumsfeld continued to support him in public, saying at a Pentagon briefing May 7, "I certainly have confidence in Secretary White."
May 7, 2002 was almost a year ago. May 7, 2003 has not yet arrived. so how can a statement made a year ago be interpreted as Rummy "continuing to support him in public?"
Isn't that strange?

Isn't that strange? Just a little dig by the CNN reporter being true to form. He had to reach way back to find an expression of support by Rummy. Using the phrase, "a senior Pentagon official said" is often an indication of a reporter's vivid imagination or agenda.

I noticed that date as well....and I tried to figure out what was going on, perhaps, in May 2002...otherwise, it's obviously got to be some sort of typo.
