The jobs in my county (western NC) are predominantly manufacturing (furniture). Those jobs are gone, and they 'aint coming back!

Chinese furniture is the threat here. Furniture and white goods (refrigerators and stoves) used to be all US manufacture inside the USA. Now a growing percentage is made in China as well as Mexico and other places.

If this keeps up, the only jobs in America will be working as a trial lawyer, a politician, insurance sales and union school teacher.
