This country is so lost on the left in an objectivist fog IMHO. How we can spend $1,000,000 on a premature infant born at 6 months all because his/her parents want this child, yet dither over the rights of a near term infant to be called human is so far beyond rationale that you could call it evil.

We are moving very close to Singer's ideal of ~Post-Uterine Abortions~.

Yes... I can see some really ugly 'compromise' being hammered out where there are stages where killing the fetus with the mother's consent is legal, and killing it without the mother's consent is murder. And of course there'll be a case where the mother changes her mind in the middle of the abortion, gets the doctor put up on murder charges, and sues the state they're in for a trillion dollars.
