There's Hollywood again -- don't confuse me with the facts... "the character is a composite meant to represent every woman's struggle"... can't you just hear it now?

I think it's typical of the Hollywierd crowd to have the arrogance to decide how a person's life should be interpreted. They always believe now, that their way of looking at life is correct. We, the great unwashed, could not possibly understand art at the levels that they do.

Dr. Jerri Nielsen
Dr. Nielsen had better be careful, Sarandon's lover boy, Tim Robbins, doesn't take kindly to criticism of his little Susan.

It's a shame, the book was quite interesting.

Well, the subject and the audience disliked the film, but CBS and Sarandon liked it, so they consider it a success. (I wish CBS and Sarandon many similar "successes".)

Oh, I see............she wanted
accuracy in the portrayal of her experience. Got it.
Well, sweetie, you should've known better than to expect Hollywood to give a damn about trivial things like "facts" or "reality".

Actually the South Pole story was intensely interesting (not Sarandon). I can only ascribe the historically low ratings to hatred for the forgetable washed up Sarandon.
I actually met Robbins and Sarandon at a Museum once. I complimented Robbins on his performance in Jacob's Ladder. Robbins is very tall, goofy, and psychologically enslaved/dependent on the short, ugly, domineering Sarandon, who looks hideous without make-up.

One problem is it was trying to compete against the movie "Helen of Troy", plus I believe it came on at the same time as The Man Show.
Girls jumping on Trampolines trumps ugly old Sarandon any day.

In the defense of the writers and producers, I think it is somewhat telling that this ladies companions at the time aren't exactly jumping to her defense and criticizing the production.
