I've always wondered about this "woo-ing" thing.

Did the Pope go up to them and say: "Wooo Wooo!!"??

Vatican II did NOT abolish the Latin Mass. In its first document, Sacrosanctum Concilium, the Council called for the people to be BETTER instructed in the chants of the Mass, in Latin and Greek, so that they could sing and say those parts of the Mass that pertain to them. The formal schism came into being NOT as a protest against the abolition of the Latin Mass, which never happened, but as a direct result of the consecration of four bishops without Papal authorization.

The LeFevbrites' dispute with Vatican II centers around the Declaration on Relgious Liberty, not the Latin Mass.
