Now, I am confused about the history of Chavez...I grew up as a farmer with many migrant worker and farmer friends.

Here's the question??? Was Chavez a great equalizer capitalized upon by latino poverty pimps...or was he a terrorist who supported the unravelling of private farms...or was he the great liberator that many believe he was???

I still don't know.

I can't remember, does that mean we have to eat grapes and boycott lettuce, or eat lettuce and boycott grapes?

WHAT A HIDEOUS TRAVESTY.

Migrant workers needed much more long before him and we haven't done well by them as a society.

BUT HE WAS A COMMIE THROUGH AND THROUGH, in my book--bent on our destruction. And now we honor him with a stamp???

Sheesh.

We have to remember our departed union leaders and keep the soil of their graves moistened.

One does not need a water jug for this.

So when do we get a stamp with Levrenty Beria on it?

That comes right after the Saudi women (almost) get to drive series. Be patient.

For one he wasn't a Mexican ---he was a third generation American. He was against illegal and massive immigration from Mexico, he knew illegal immigration was a way to keep people dirt poor and out of work. I think he was just a typical union organizer who thought the workers should have decent wages and working conditions. I always hear he was a Communist but I don't think he was any more Communist than those labor union types in Detroit.

bent on our destruction.

How? I never saw that ---I find it ironic that he's being made into being some kind of Mexican saint for the left when he used terms like "wetback" and was against illegal immigration. I always thought he was just trying to get people into the middle class which to me is the opposite of our destruction.

That is the info I get on him too...he was watching out for others, while others were capitalizing on him...the book needs to be further explained and explored

Sorry.

I jumped a few leaps

I was convinced way back then, that he was very closely allied with the Communists and one through and through.

I haven't followed his following for many years.

One of his cohorts destroyed the chance for Navajos here to have 135 or more--I forget--a large number of jobs at a Fairchild factory. Fairchild had it all set to open in a matter of days. Chavez's cohort acted out and Fairchild closed the doors and walked away.

The Commies are only out for our destruction.

But the real destroyer behind THEM is, of course, IMHO, satan. His only game is to steal and destroy etc. to get back at God for being kicked out of Heaven.

Anyway--that's where I was coming from.

Thanks for your kind msg.

Guess I thought Chavez was more overtly Communistic.

I must say--I did sort of lump him in with Chez Guiverra sp?

I realized Chez was much MORE OVERTLY RADICAL but I kind of thought they were cut from the same cloth.

Of course, I've been wrong a number of times in my life!

But was my understanding back when I paid attention to the whole movement etc.
