[history]
PARIS, April 15 -- An American backlash against French products and businesses has started to bite, dashing hopes here that appeals in the United States to punish France economically for opposing the war in Iraq would go unheeded.
American importers of French wine are reporting sharp drops in sales in the past two months, and other French products also have been affected. The Federation of Wine Exporters has called a meeting Thursday to discuss how to respond.

W.J. Deutsch & Sons Ltd. of White Plains, N.Y. -- the No. 1 U.S. importer of French wines, as measured by cases shipped -- said its sales dropped 10 percent in the past two months. Sales down 10%, huh?
We'll keep working on it. Someday they will have dropped 100%.

For both American and French politics, corporation money directs political policy. If I buy Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, I know a part of the money funds Hillary's next campaign. So let the boycott live on.

I plan to boycott the French LONG after the US has accepted their apology. I plan to boycott the French even when people start asking, "What's a France?"

Theres only one thing I want to see come out of France this year for the US. I'd love to see Lance utterly crush the French again this year at The Tour De France. Could you imagine a French team winning the Super Bowl? What about 5 times in a row. Thats how mad Lance drives the Frogs!

I'll tell them how to respond. Try selling your wine to your new friends, the Arabs...

Truthfully, we should be boycotting French Socialism which is at the root cause of this and most other distress in the region.
To: Childseyes
"The Federation of Wine Exporters has called a meeting Thursday to discuss how to respond. " guess they could drink more of their own stuff...
or, they could "donate" it to the u.n., for peace keeping purposes.

"I plan to boycott the French LONG after the US has accepted their apology."
Good on you, as the Aussies would say approvingly. No striped pants here, either.
47 years ago, when I was in North Africa, the French had an aircraft in the theatre called the Mirage. They had found the perfect name to describe their past, and their future.
