Hmmmm? Record companies have a lot at stake. They usually put money up front for recordings, wardrobes, etc. They do have a big stake in the success of the client. Also, they do some really kinky stuff to keep clients from signing with other record companies. It's called competition - although most of them go waaaaaaay to far to court these people.

This case might be really good exposure of this practice of the over-coddling, and how detrimental it is to the stars.
