It's not quite that bad yet. Unlike us, your state hasn't driven away it's largest and most recognized employer like we've done. Boeing is now based in Chicago.

Changing the subject completely but has there been any sort of "morning after" after Boeing pulled out? You know, where people (esp. in government) wake up, fully sober and wonder, "What happened???" or does Seattle continue to laugh and play?

Government never "gets it", they just blame private industry or corporate chieftains. The response is always the same. In desperation, they start buying billboards and advertising. When you see a billboard for a town/city/state, you know they are trying to lure you into a trap. Nobody in their right mind will go there. Any businessperson knows that Eldorado needs no advertising, Hell - on the other hand - does.
Then, they will "invest" tax money in some ill conceived scheme by other bureaucrats, and blame the market when it fails.

They will never "get it". Goodbye Maine.

When Birry Krinton was still governor of Arkansas he had billboards in many eastern states luring business down there.

Tax breaks, pollution breaks, etc.
