Iraqi Embassy in Brazil Burns Documents

Wed Apr 9, 5:14 PM ET:  BRASILIA, Brazil - Iraqi Embassy employees in Brasilia started burning documents Wednesday after TV stations broadcast images of a Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) statue being toppled in Baghdad, police said.

Police said they could see men outside the embassy burning boxes and large quantities of paper.

"There were some workers who took papers from the offices to the garden to burn them," said police Col. Abinor Deilvane, whose unit protects embassies in the Brazilian (news - web sites) capital.

Media photographers who arrived a short time later saw three piles of smoldering paper inside the embassy's walls next to the building.

An embassy official who said he was the secretary of Iraqi Ambassador Jarallah Alobaidy denied documents were being destroyed.

"It's all lies," said the official, Abdu Saif. "We are only burning garbage and recently cut grass."

A short time later, a man who answered the phone at the embassy said only, "I'm not working now" and hung up.

No. They elected a Marxist who openly embraces Venezuela, Cuba and Libya. Now remember that ship from North Korea that was intercepted with no manifest and the missles encased in concrete allegedly going to Yemen? It went on to Yemen, but if we didn't stop it, I bet it went on to Iraq. More food for thought; is there an underground nuclear program designed to arm our enemies? A sort of cooperative between North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya and Syria to create a nuclear weapons program for those nations. Not to mention the fact that the Marxist in Brazil stated one month after his election he wanted to create the first Brazilian A-bomb. Food for thought. Sleep tight.

You could be correct regarding such a program.

You'd have to wonder where and how these developing nations could get the necessary components.

The only sources would be France and Russia.

Japan has the technology but submits to UN inspection and US treaties (which provide their nuclear shield).

China could also be a source of equipment for nuclear programs.

Any PRC installations in So. America?

How about the issue of trade?

If these "developing nations" are getting technology, what are they sending back to France, Russia, and China?

And, why would the Germans back the program?
