Aid arrives at Baghdad airport From correspondents in Washington April 10, 2003 AIRCRAFT have delivered aid supplies to Baghdad international airport, US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has said.

"Planes are already landing at the Baghdad airport. They're already going in," he said today.

Dismissing claims of a humanitarian crisis in Iraq, the defence secretary added: "The humanitarian problem occurred under the Saddam Hussein regime for decades.

"What's happening now is that humanitarian assistance is coming in.

"That doesn't mean that the situation is worse, it means that it's better

Nice to see Rummy setting the record straight. He must be completely fed up with all the bullship he's had to endure.

Waiting for Brooks to finally slam some of the idiot reporters in Dohar.

He's getting mighty tired of those dumb questions. This guy didn't even get his "how will humanitarian aid get into Iraq" question of out him mouth before Rumsfeld slammed him with this one.

"Nice to see Rummy setting the record straight. He must be completely fed up with all the bullship he's had to endure."

You should have seen his response to the fallacious question that led to one of the best reamings-out I've seen in years. Rummy leaped into action, his eyes glinting with fire as he wood-shedded the reporter mercilessly. He finished by telling the reporter that his question had been based upon a FALSE PREMISE. To his credit, the shamed, chastened reporter DID follow up with the question he should have asked in the first place without the loaded "still beating your wife" premise. And Rummy gave him a straight answer - "When the time is right."

The reason why reporters ask these loaded questions is that they've gotten away with the practice for so many years. That's changing. Rummy doesn't put up with such journalistic malfeasance.

There are Guardian Angels watching over this administration. The very day the press is complaining about the starving Iraqis, there's an article that shows the humanitarian aid being stored by Saddam's son.

Mountains of baby food stashed in secret warehouses - Troops help with babies

By now the press really should give up.

"Dismissing"

They better get with the program. I knew there was a huge scandal when they had the first surrendering civilian strip after we were ambushed.

The old man had ribs and hips sticking out like he was systematically starving to death!!

UN should be tried money laundering, murder, and other atrocities!!! I'll keep saying it over and over and over again.

Yep. Guess things are moving very fast.

Aid arriving at Rumsfeld International, troops greeted as liberators, now we just gotta clean out Tikrit.

I heard something about Brooks saying to a reporter, "a person would have to be crazy to believe that". He was replying to the charge that we targeted the reporters on purpose.

Also ... a BBC (believe it or not) reporter has been investigating and his story is that in order for our tanks to have shot the reporters, the mortars would have had to GO AROUND THE CORNER OF THE BUILDING. He said that he saw the outside and inside damage of the building and there is no way it was from tank fire (insufficient damage). He also said that the damage to the room and outside on the balcony indicated bullets, not mortars, and intimated he thought Iraqi people had fired on the reporters who were on their balcony taking pictures of the Iraqi people.

So iraqis fired a mortar round or RPG in there? It was just bullets, it looked bigger than that.

I just repeated what the BBC guy reported to FOX. He said the damage to the room where the reporters were was not where the mortar damage was on the building. So Al-Jazerra showed the mortar damage as being where the reporters were killed - which was not true.

In the reporters' room, the only damage was from gunfire, not mortar fire.

Thanks to the Turks stabbing us in the back. We have a whole lot of late spring house cleaning in the Northern Part of Iraq.

Tikrit probably should just be MOABED for 24/7. I don't think that we want any of that DNA creeping out of there.

This would have been over if the 4th ID could have come through Turkey.

Instead, they and their equipment had to go through the Suez, into the Red Sea and to the SE corner of Iraq.

The Turks have put themselves in the same bed that the Russians, Germans and French have been sharing with Saddam's cash cow regime.
