As a tribute to our armed forces and to George Bush for his forsight and leadership in the current conflict in Iraq ... and as my own attempt to counter the unbelievable, blatantly, slanted reporting of much of the major news media against the effort (with the notable exception of FoxNews) ... and as a response to the out-and-out seditious nature of much of the protests against the war and in honor of FreeRepublic's and the FreeRepublic Network's efforts in organizing the counter protest push ... I have created a new web site called:

I have linked that site back to FreeRepublic efforts in several areas.

1. On the "Protests" page I link to Free Republic Network and show pictures of the marvelous effort they have made in organizing and keeping alive the patriotic spirit and counter-protest effort throughout the conflict. I know first hand that several of our service people are well aware of the overwhelming chorus that is being raise here state side in their support and are extremely appreciative of it.

2. On the "Memorial" page I link back to FR's regular "Lest we Forget" pages memoralizing those who are naking the supreme sacrifice on all of our behalf.

3. On the "Links" page I link to FreeRepublic, FreeRepublic Network and to the daily FR Iraqi Freedom Opeation Center Threads.

It is my hope that the site will add just a little more to the chorus of support for our troops in these critical and perilous times, and that it will serve as a reminder of what occurred in the years ahead. Why it occured and how it occured.

I also hope, in a small way, that it leads more people to FR and the opportunity for involvement and activism that exists here.

Many of you have already seen and visited the site. I wanted to make a more general announcement inconjunction with an email I will be sending out.

This has been a time-consuming but very productive, rewarding and enjoyable experience for me personally. It has allowed me to direct and channel some pretty strong outrage over the media coverage and the protests into something positive.

I hope folks enjoy it, feel free to let others know anout it.

You'll have to judge the merits of the site, and check into my own history here on FR and elsewhere for yourself.

As it is, from my perspective, the explanation given on this thread, and that given on the site say exactly what the site is about.

However you feel about it ... I hope you get some positive use from the effort.
