ITHACA -- Alternative Community School students, in character as key world leaders Monday, demonstrated the instability of the Middle East by engaging in a series of fiery debates.

Students in Chris Sperry's "Facing History and Ourselves" global studies class dressed as George W. Bush, Saddam Hussein, Ariel Sharon and Yasser Arafat, among others, to participate in the 12th annual ACS Middle East Debates.

Students in Chris Sperry's "Facing History and Ourselves" global studies class continue the 12th annual Middle East Debate Monday afternoon. From left, Giovanna De Luca as Saddam Hussein, Nora Lang as Muhammad Khatami, the president of Iran, Phoebe Mcmillan as the late Ayatollah Khameni, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Anna Raymer as Bashar al-Assad the President of Syria, and Eli Gold as Emile Lahoud, the President of Lebenon

Knowing Ithaca, they probably picked the girl in the black beret and old army jacket to play Saddam because that's the way she dresses every single day. ;-)

Ithaca is the City of Evil.

"Living in Ithaca and going to ACS all you hear is 'Bush is evil,'"

Just one more example, of many, on how Ithaca is a city "of Maoist like conformists," working overtime to indoctrinate kids.

Making Ithaca the City of Evil.

Actually-calls for censorship-calls to ban ethnic foods-renaming foods to fit a political agenda are alll examples of totalitarian - Orwellian think and are NOT in the tradition of the GOP as I have known the GOP.

Free Assembly and Freedom of speech still apply to Ithaca or is the whole town to be damned and purged?

"Do I think Bush is a smarter man now? No. But do I understand where he's coming from? Yes."

Well, she almost got there but cratered for fear of peer rejection.
