[history]
More than a dozen al Qaeda operatives are hiding out in Mexico - desperately looking for a way to sneak over the border and carry out terrorist attacks on the United States, it was reported yesterday.
At least 14 members of the terrorist organization headed by Osama bin Laden are in Mexico and have sought the assistance of drug-smuggling organized-crime factions, U.S. officials told the Washington Times.

It's actually a pretty old rumor that the Wash Times stumbled over in the last few days; about 4-5 days ago Strategypage.com said that the government was now discounting it as bad info.
But people are so desperately hoping for Arab terrorists to come over the Mexican border, I'm sure the original report will keep echoing for days.

MSNBC reported about 30 min. ago a tape from UBL calling attacks on evil Americans. Haven't heard it anywhere else.
Alex Witt on MSNBC drives me crazy! She needs to shut up!

There was a report from one of the embedded reporters that the Marines in East Baghdad were fighting against irregulars from Syria, Yemen, Sudan, etc. He said there was one group they were up against that was serious and he wasn't allowed to mention them.
As long as you seem to be into posting cheery news tonight, perhaps you could ping me to any information that clarifies who the unknown adversaries in Iraq are. He Whose Name May Not Be Spoken....is who?

I'm a leftcoast nightowl too....my sleep schedule has been a wreck since we moved into Iraq.
As for the alQ operatives in Mexico desperately looking for a way to get into the USA, what's wrong with them? Mexican nationals get in every day of the week, no problema. Sigh.
