KINSHASA, Democratic Republic of Congo -- More than 950 civilians have been killed in a massacre in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United Nations confirmed Monday.
The massacre in and around the Roman Catholic parish of Drodro, near the Uganda border, is thought to have happened last Thursday, days after warring Congolese factions signed a political settlement to end several years of conflict.

Not to whip a dead horse here, but is there any comment at all from human shields on African atrocities? Why not?

You can bet the French supported the group that performed the massacre, just like they supported the Hutus in Rwanda.

This is another example of the UN putting military forces in a country and being unable to prevent massacres. The blue helmets prolly just stood by and watched.

The UN is reporting a massacre.
I've not been following this story - has the UN imposed a disarmament program there, anytime recently?

Hans Blix said that there was absolutely no evidence of a massacre.

Because they know that these people will cut them up into little pieces with a machette, hell they might end up as dinner.

Does anyone know if Congo is on or worse, heads up any of the committees in the UN at the moment. It would interesting to find out.

Not to whip a dead horse here, but is there any comment at all from human shields on African atrocities? Why not? Because its "only" Africans killing Africans and not "Americans building empire". The Peace crowd only will permit Freedom (aka Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness) for those whom they deem worthy.

The UN is good at reporting the massacres but they suck at stopping them.
