Why am I not surprised? On the other hand, it looks like Basra will be taken, and quite soon.

Great flag, MadIvan. It would be nice to hear a hearty rendition of "Rule Britannia!" right about now. Even a midi version might do.

Guy on Sky trying to spin it. Saying they are from our bombs. I got that they were older than this war from the amount of decomposition.

More details from Sky:
British soldiers have found hundreds of human remains in a "makeshift morgue" in southern Iraq, according to a report from the PA news agency. The skulls, bundles of bone in strips of military uniform, were dumped in plastic bags and unsealed cardboard coffins in an abandoned Iraqi military base on the outskirts of Al Zubayr.
It was impossible to say how long the remains had been there.
But the grim discovery will now be investigated by forensic specialists as possible evidence of atrocities perpetrated by the Iraqi regime.

There is developing news on MSNBC, they reported it first, we are in the 'heart' of Central Bagdad. We have eliminated alot of Guard, but we are seeing injuries also. Arnot reported from one command post where it has been deserted and he is walking around with 3 soldiers, looking at many Guard photos and even said he was holding a vial of white stuff with no clue what it is. The townsfolk said the guard still had been leaving as early as early morning their time...watch for more breaking news...

This is southwest of Basra.

It sounds reminiscent of Pol Pot's killing fields.

Arnot "even said he was holding a vial of white stuff with no clue what it is."
Sometimes I question that guys intellegence. If he's not shooting dogs, he's "comforting" 13 year old girls. Now he's
into someone's stash.

Yet Ariel Sharon and George W. Bush are dubbed as mass-murderers.
To: MadIvan
Those "strips of military uniforms" may have been prison uniforms. Remember not too long ago Saddam released "all" his political prisoners? Before releasing them, he purges those he doesn't want to release. (He can arrest those he releases later anyway, so the idea of the "release" was grimly funny on two levels!) We may have found their remains. Alert Amnesty.
