Please forward to interested friends and students.
Next Wednesday, schools throughout the nation will allow some students to observe what is being called a "Day of Silence" to highlight the "silencing" of the homosexual viewpoint. Boy, is this a stretch of the truth!
What is really needed is more accurate information about the dangers of homosexuality, the reality of change and re-direction away from that lifestyle, and the courage to stand up and say these things-- knowing full well this is not the "hate" that will be claimed.
Because of an avalanche of other priorities, we haven't organized anything official this year to counteract the "Day of Silence." But--if you know of students, teachers, parents, pastors, youth groups, etc. who might like to prepare their own grass roots response, please let them know about this opportunity. They could pass out flyers with facts, truth and hope on this subject. There's more information on the following web sites:
www.twid.org (for "Truth Without Interruption Day")
www.traditionalvalues.org
www.abidingtruth.com
Also, our friend Stephen Bennett, former homosexual and recording artist, has a fine pamphlet he has prepared for this and other purposes--his web site is www.sbministries.org .
If you want to read about the "Day of Silence" and the participating schools, see www.dayofsilence.org . It is being organized by GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. They claim that last year, over 100,000 students participated.
If you live in Florida--next week would be a great time to testify against a very deceptive bill which pertains directly to this subject. It's the Dignity for all Students Act, and it's getting committee hearings on Wed., April 9.It's really a misleading name because the result of the bill will be forced pro-homosexual teaching in K-12 schools. The claim is that there is unnoticed harassment and discrimination against homosexual students in schools. The reality is that, conduct codes exist now, and if they aren't being enforced, communities should enforce them. No new programs with hidden agendas are needed--especially ones that will end up endangering students more than ever. Tell students about this --and if they want to get involved on this "Day of Silence" e-mail us at info@missionamerica.com, and we'll give you the particulars.

Just another reason to explore alternatives to government schools, such as homeschooling and private schools.

Silencing the gay point of view.
Like that is even possible, considering how they force their views on everyone, and scream when people disagree with them.
Never mind the churches they've vandalized, as well as the people they've assaulted in said churches. Never mind that they are the most vocal and rude minority group in this country.

I am a product of private education, and have continued that into a private univeristy. It's important to develop a viewpoint from a set standard, not based on liberal ideas.
To: A University Student
You can say that again.
To: Commander8
What happens if you don't want to observe? Do you speak during that silence?
To: hsmomx3
GLSEN needs to be investigated from head to toe. My every instinct tells me that NAMBLA is involved. I see no need for adults to promote anything like this in schools other than for Indoctrination and Predation.

I would start screaming about a moment of silence for our troops, for God's sake.

So much effort for such a useless battle and a losing cause. When dealing with these people we need to stand tall and not get in the trenches to fight with them. Lets spend our time on a day of family, lets lower the tax burden enough so only one parent needs to work like the "good ole days". Lets be aware of and inform our children of the bad things that are out there, but lets also let our children understand that each person has the right to do what they feel is best for themselves, and that we should do what is best for ourselves without hindering others opinions. Silence whether a moment or longer, is silent and should for that reason go undetected by anyone. People who speak about silence , umm, dah. Now that said, when a person or group of people try to shove garbage in my mouth or the mouths of my children, I spit it out or better yet block it from getting in. Let the fight come to you, don't look for it, ignore them and do what is right, and they will go away. Really they will. Sorry I do believe that good will prevail.

Well next week the schools here will be on spring break so it will be real silent in them for the whole week.

"...the most vocal and rude minority group..."
Tha 'love that dare not speak its name' is now the faction that never closes its mouth.
I didn't mean that the way it sounds. ;^)
To: headsonpikes
I know, they rarely are silent on anything.
Makes the 'moment of silence' for them such a crock.
Didn't sound bad to me, course I don't have an ultra-thin skin like some people sometimes have. (I've read some things here that someone hit the abuse button for, and I often wonder why they're so offended. Except for having wetpaper thin skins..)

One of the most expensive private girls' schools in my city (one of the most expensive in the country for that matter) REQUIRES silence from the students on that day so they can experience the demeaning treatment that gays have had to put up with over the centuries.
To: Commander8
Any
butth@le can CALL for such things but no one (outside SF, NYC and certain other pestulent holes of perversion) will be following the call.
Schools are not going to do this outside the unAmerican areas listed. Geeez.
To: Cousin Eddie
You wouldn't by any chance live in the Baltimore area do you?

Exactly. This is the kind of crap that is loved by the snotty private schools the elites send their children too.
Can you image this in a ghetto school? I would love to hear the comments of the students there about such an abomination. It would make Say Man sound depressing in comparision. Plus, the SSAADed would have to pull a few size 13s outta their @$$($ (though they might like it.)
To: hsmomx3
Maybe they can talk about how AIDS is spread. Oh, sorry. I forgot. You can't talk about that...

On another note, wonder what the gov schools will have to say about students wearing these t-shirts to school?
