Perhaps a few reasons: First, the NY Times thought it noteworthy to print a story about an area of the country that is remote: why and why now? Has there been a whopping increase in crime? Second, I figured there were probably some Freepers out in those parts and curious to see their reaction to this story. Are these white supremacists obviously present out there or is this mostly a figment of the Times' imagination?

Now I must ask you: why are you quetioning why I would post this? Is there a reason why you feel I should not have? Please check my posting history and you will see that I have psoted a fair number of articles from the NY Times for a variety of reaons.

I especially liked how the NY Times reporter linked Utahns' independence and suspicion of government to the white racists. Smooth move there. I have two brothers who live in North Ogden, I'll have to ask them about this article...
