Rappers can do what she did, so can rockers like Hynde or Vedder. Because their audiences dont hold the kind of allegiance to their country the way that country music fans do. Country fans are a breed apart, the kind of rugged individualists that this country was built by. Natalie Maines is a stone cold idiot for not knowing even the first thing about her main fan base. They arent just a bunch of apathetic imbeciles. They are proud Americans. It is difficult to believe that she could be so obtuse not to KNOW this.

That is the same thing I have been screaming for the past month. Regardless of Political parties, Country music fans are steeped in God, Country and the ex-wife!

Well, she doesn't know her "fan base" because she doesn't know what country music is.

This "new country" is actually a new category invented by musicians who couldn't make it in rock, and listened to by young white people who don't like rap.

However, they do manage to tug some country fans along with them...I mean you tell some people that the Rolling STones are country, and you tell them long enough, then they attract fans.

Anyway, she has pooped in their mess-kit, and if I was one of the other two, I'd be sueing her to hell and back for depriving me of a livlihood. Who knows, maybe that will happen.
