March 31, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Colin Powell last night issued a new warning to Syria to end its support for "the dying regime of Saddam Hussein" in next-door Iraq, or face the consequences.

Powell's warning came two days after Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld threatened to hold Syria accountable for "hostile acts" in allowing military gear to be shipped to Iraq.

Syrai, Iraq, Saudia Arabia, Iran - nations which hate us, hate Christianity, and abhor everthing we value in our lifestyles and cultures. Our national security and the survival of the westr depend upon their supression of conversion to more moderate regimes.

Many of the weapons of mass warfare we are looking for in Iraq may well have been secreted in Syria by the fanaticv nutjob ruling that country.

That's not the problem.

I'm not even sure they do hate us, although that is probably correct.

The problem is that they are committed to the destruction of our civilization and they don't believe we will do what is necessary to resist.

Note to Syria:

Maybe you weren't "next", but back off now or you will be.

I agree with you. Reading some of the pablum type speeches by western political and religious leaders, I can see where they get that impression. I hope they are wrong.
